You guys are dumb for watching football instead of hiking

Everyone who didn't go on the hiking trip this past Sunday missed out!

Some of the shenanigans:

Eli pointing out every piece of shit on the Poo Poo Trail.
Getting hit in the face by spider webs.
Us talking about food for 4 hours (we were all starving).

Seriously, great times.  Perfect day, perfect terrain, couldn't get any better.

Thanks to Sarah for organizing and picking a great trail!  There will be plenty more hiking excursions to come.

Bond, James Bond

As I sit here and type up these latest post, the television keeps showing me trailers for the upcoming new 007 movie "Quantum of Solace". It looks pretty fierce and Jack White wrote the theme song. As such, I'll be planning a viewing upon its release (Nov. 14; yes I know this is a little early).

(Okay, a lot early).

This is an example of a minor event members should take it upon to plan themselves. Good times.

Inaugural Meeting

Thanks to all those who came out to Big Time Brewery for the inaugural meeting of the Part II Club. I look forward to working with all the charter members to make this the most successful student organization in the Foster School of Business, graduate or otherwise. After meeting with most of you tonight, there is little doubt that this club is well on its way to achieving this lofty goal.

In case you missed it, here are a few brief points of interest from the meeting:

  • The interim Executive Board has been filled. Joining myself, Scott Lee (VP Finance), and Read Maloney (VP Operations) will be Brittnay Trimberger (VP of Marketing) and Andy Cole (VP Student Relations). While open elections will be held when the club goes official, I strongly feel this Board will be able to more than serve the needs of this organization.
  • Charter members completed an official membership application. If you have not filled out an application and wish to do so, please contact me at rham@u.washington.edu. Asian Scott (please see "How to identify the MBA Class of 2010 Scotts" post) will soon be sending out a membership bio list to all.
  • The first Premium Event (Fall 2008) will be a ski trip to Whistler, British Columbia. Details to be announced shortly.
  • The first Monthly Event (Oct 2008) will be Oktoberfest: Part II. Details to be announced shortly.
If you missed the meeting or have any concerns that were not properly addressed at the meeting, please feel free to contact me.

Good start ladies and gentlemen, let's keep the music playing...

Welcome...

...to the Part II Club blog. While this is a temporary blog that will hopefully be integrated into our our forthcoming website and forum, this is the place where all Part II Club digital content will be posted for the time being.

You can expect to find the following here:

  • Copies of all email correspondence sent regarding all things Part II.
  • Current and future event invites and information
  • Highlights and summaries from past events
  • Random information that may or may not be pertinent to Part II. No promises on humor or entertainment value either. Sorry.
All blogs should be available for members comments. At some point in time I'll make posting to the blog available to all members also. I'm not all that tech savvy, so if there is a better way to do this that someone knows about, please don't hesitate to let me know. I promise to not make you set it up for me. Maybe.
